A note is a Fourier series: a root plus the partials that ring with it. RootEQ plants that root and grows the related resonances in one move, then lets you branch any partial into a new series — until the vocal, guitar, or tom has a curve that belongs to that sound.

RootEQ is not a channel EQ. There is no low-cut, high-cut, or shelf. Every band is a peaking filter on a harmonic grid — a sculpting tool for ringing, boxiness, and the partials that make a voice.
A boxy guitar or a ringing tom is rarely one spike. Cut 400 Hz and 800 Hz often carries the same cabinet. Grow the series from the note and the cousins sit still.
Branch the partials that belong to that singer — presence, honk, the whistle on one vowel — and save it as a preset. Not a generic “vocal” shelf. Their series.
High-pass the rumble elsewhere. RootEQ stays on the harmonic work: the family of bells that should move together when the note moves.
Each node is a peaking (bell) filter. The grid is how those bells stay related: a prime series from the root you planted. Shape scales the whole design. Double-click empty space for a new root. Right-click to add grid bands, change the prime, or delete. Double-click a grid handle to branch.

Each root has a prime (2, 3, 5, …). Grid bands land at f0 × prime^(i+1). Prime 2 is octaves. Other primes step through thinner related series. Move the root and the family moves with it.
